PROCESS

If you’ve reviewed what services I offer, your thoughts have probably turned to pricing. My rates are affordable but because every piece of work is unique, each quote is tailored.

This is where the sample edit becomes important as I will use this as my guide to develop a quote. This will also allow me to advise you regarding what level of editing I think you need.

If you wish to take up more than one service for the same manuscript, we can work out a package price.

Please note the cost of a manuscript assessment is a flat rate of $700 for work between 80,000 and 100,000 words. Word counts above and below this will be need to be quoted. No free sample edit is offered for this service.

1

Submit a sample

Contact me if you’re interested in sending a sample. If you’re undecided about which service you think you would most benefit from, we can discuss it further.

You then send me 1,500 words from the middle of your MS. I’ll complete a free trial sample and return it to you along with your tailored quote.

2

Accept the quote

Assuming you’re happy with the sample edit and have decided to accept the quote:

I’ll send you a contract and invoice.

A 50% deposit will be required prior to commencement of work.

We’ll agree on a start date, and you then send me your manuscript a week prior.

3

Halfway mark

I’ll contact you when I reach the halfway point of your manuscript. This allows us to discuss and collaborate before I move on with the second half. It also means you can relax, and concentrate on other things, knowing I will be in touch 😊.

4

Completion

When I’ve completed the manuscript, I’ll send it to you for comment. When you’ve sent it back, I’ll go through it again and finalise it.

You receive the final copy of your manuscript, polished and ready for a wider audience – yay!!

The invoice for the outstanding payment will come with the finalised manuscript.

Original

It wasn’t everyday that an alpacca turns up in the garden but today was such a day. Pausing only to drag on a coat because it was cold outside, Stacey runs through the front door yelling for her husband as she goes.

“Next door’s alpacca has escaped again!” she shouted loudly “and it’s tucking into the ornamental grasses.”
