Everyone loves a good story and I’m no exception. Since my mum taught me to read as a toddler, I’ve been reading all my life, and I can’t remember a single day when I didn’t have a book on the go. As a child I loved writing too, but as I grew up, writing went on the back burner until about ten years ago when I started writing creatively again.
Oh the joy and the pain of it!!! I’m still writing now, so you can be confident that I understand the emotional energy it takes 😊.
So why trust me with your work?
I’m interested, thorough, and professional. On a personal level, I recognise you’ve already dedicated weeks, months, or even years to your story and any changes I suggest will always be delivered with the greatest of respect.
I’m a clear communicator and will always work collaboratively with you to get the best results. At the end of the day this is your story, but if you entrust me with it, you can rest assured it will be in safe hands.
Just a couple of points:
- I have completed two degrees at Master's level (through UNE and UTas) and will consider academic theses for proofreading and editing. Contact me to discuss.
- I have a passion for fiction, and have no minimum or maximum length. Short stories welcome.

What to expect from me:
When I’m doing a manuscript assessment for you, I’m on the sidelines identifying any issues you may have overlooked as well as cheering you on, so you feel confident to move onto the next part of the process.
If you request a structural edit, I’ll be working with you shoulder to shoulder, looking at the larger picture to help you organise and elevate your story.
When doing a copy edit, I’ll be the private investigator you need to go through your story, line by line, looking for consistency, and ironing out the bugs.
And when I’m proofreading, I’ll be the gardener, weeding out those last little nuisances so that you have a completed and polished manuscript, ready to present to a wider audience.
- I work in Word: I’ll use Track Changes so you can see what changes I’ve made and when it’s completed, I’ll send you a clean copy too, for easy comparison.
- At the halfway mark, I’ll let you know where I’m up to, so you don’t think I’ve dropped off the face of the earth 😊.
